Annas Sang (CD)

In 2022, the greatest debut success in recent Danish literary history was published when Benjamin Koppel released the novel Anna's Song. It is a family saga inspired by his grandfather Herman D. Koppel’s family, based on the story of his younger sister Anna. The novel has sold more than 150,000 copies and, in addition to translations, has been sold for both film adaptation and theater production. Prior to the book, Benjamin Koppel composed ten songs about his great-aunt Anna and collaborated with Cæcilie Norby, who wrote the lyrics based on Benjamin’s stories about the real Anna’s life. Initially, these songs were released in English on the album Anna's Dollhouse, recorded with renowned American musicians. In June 2024, the songs were translated into Danish and recorded with singer Frederikke Vedel, the Benjamin Koppel Quartet, and the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra.
